WHITEHOUSE INSTITUTE OF DESIGN OPENING SHOW
Words :: Alastair McCann  |  23-07-08

Famous Sydney design school Whitehouse Institute of Design has expanded south to Melbourne, officially opening its Bourke st campus in style on Monday night with an impressive runway show.  Operating for over 20 years in Sydney and with impeccible industry credentials, Whitehouse Institute is clearly set to establish itself in this city.

Whitehouse runs undergraduate courses with a fashion design stream, interior design stream and a composite creative stream.  It also has diplomas and short courses for the slightly less committed.  For a snapshot of what the school is all about, take a look at the work of its students featured last night at the opening runway show.

Whitehouse Institue of Design is located at a tremendous new facilty at 672 Bourke street.  (Chances are you'll recognise it if you watch Project Runway)  The campus looks like the Vogue headquarters or something - its pretty clear they practice what they preach when it comes to interiors.  The school has been running fashion drawing demos there all week as part of State of Design if you want to check it out, only you will have to be quick because Thursday is the last day.
